Sam Fattah – Head Coach

Sam is the founder of the Columbus Eagles Swim Team and has over 20- years of coaching experience.  He is a current member of USA swimming and the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) certified level- 4/5.
 Sam has completed over 400 credit hours in Advance Swimming Studies, and has attended many National swimming conferences around the world.  Sam holds a degree in Sports and Physical Education from Alexandria University, graduating in 1994, with honors. He has Assistanted Coaching at Kenyon College's nationally recognized Men's and Women's swim teams.  Kenyon College has a long history and tradition in developing National Champions and championship teams.
 
    In addition to Sam’s above experience he has also coached:  
    Alexandria University -- Head Coach
    Alexandria Sporting Club -- Head Coach
    The EGY National Team -- Assistant Coach.
    Named coach of the year five (5) times while coaching overseas.
     Sam has helped many swimmers to achive a total of 70- National Times since 1989. 
  
Sam was a collegiate swimmer and school record holder in the 100 yd backstroke.  He emphasizes stroke techniques and is dedicated to helping his swimmers reach their highest potential. 

 

Amber Doehrel – Assistant Coach

 

Amber has a degree in Intergraded Social Studies from The Ohio State University in '06. She has many years of swimming experience as a swimmer and as a coach. Amber started to coach in the summer of 2001 as an assistant coach for the Tangy Tornados. Thereafter, she continued to pursue her coaching career coaching and assist coaching various summer teams in the state of Ohio. She started swimming and competing at a younger age at Hilliard Blue Marline Swim Club, and the Delaware Darts.  Due to her early talent her parents decided to enroll her with DUST swim club where she got involved with USA Swimming competitions and championships. During high school, Amber had successful enjoyable experience swimming for Hilliard Davidson High School and Olentangy High School. 

 

During her time as a swimmer, Amber received many personal awards and achievements including but not limited to:

- ’93, ’94 &. ’95 & ‘97 Hilliard Blue Marlin Award

- ’92-‘93 CHY Sprit award

-  she set a new school record at Davidson during her 97-98 swim season in the 100 yard Breaststroke

-  A Member of the Olentangy Swim team that won the OCC title for two consecutive years in 2000 & 2001.
